Is Virginia Beach dog-friendly?

Virginia Beach is a great place to travel with your dog during the spring, fall, and winter when dogs are allowed on public beaches and the boardwalk. Dogs must be leashed on the boardwalk and can run free on the beach. During the summer, dogs must stay on the north end above 42nd street and are only allowed on the boardwalk from 6 am to 10 am.
