Your Next Big Adventure Starts with Our Mammoth Vacation Rentals
Mother Nature’s Theme Park
There are no small adventures at Mammoth Lakes. Nestled high up in the California mountains, Mammoth Lakes is in a geologically active area filled with hot springs (perfect for an after-ski soak). But there are far more things to do in Mammoth than just skiing the fresh powder or sipping hot cocoa while the kids play in the snow. From hiking to Rainbow Falls and biking up mountain trails in the summer, to watching Mother Nature put on her fall colors in autumn—Mammoth is the best place to get lost in adventure.
Fun in the Sun Starts Here
Our vacation rentals in Mammoth include lodges with resort-like amenities, comfortable cabins in the woods, and condos conveniently located near all the action. Step out onto your deck and take in the spectacular views every morning, and listen to the sounds of the wind blowing through the trees at night. Or, take a short walk down to the water and spend the day fishing, splashing around, or just lounging in the sun.
Top Sights in Mammoth
Rainbows Falls
Located 1.5 miles from the Reds Meadow area, the San Joaquin River takes a 101-foot tumble—sending a cool mist into the air, sending striking colors into view—giving this falls its namesake. It’s an easy hike, so grab the whole family, pack a picnic and take the camera. Midday, when the sun is highest, is the best time to go and catch some rainbows.
Mammoth Consolidated Mine
The Mammoth Consolidated Mine ruins are located within the breathtaking Mammoth Lakes Basin. Preserved in a state of “arrested decay” by the U.S. Forest Service, this former mining camp provides visitors a rare glimpse of the region’s past. Explore the ruins and discover what life was like for the men employed at this site during the Great Depression era.
Woolly's Tube Park & Snow Play
At Woolly's Tube Park & Snow Play, you’ll find a new way to speed down snowy slopes. Skip the uphill hike and catch a lift to the top, then zip down the lanes as fast as you dare in a high-speed snow tube. There’s fun for all ages, with a large snow play area, a heated deck, Woolly's Tube Rotondo and a snack bar where you can warm up with some hot cocoa.
Top Experiences in Mammoth
Experience Fall in the Eastern Sierra
Watch as the Eastern Sierra slopes are painted gold, crimson, and orange in the autumn—the perfect backdrop for any memorable vacation. You can also find a collection of activities and festivals celebrating this special time of the year. From Labor Day Weekend until the first snow, you can enjoy warm days and cool nights—the perfect time for endless outdoor Mammoth activities.
Attend a Screener
Every May, the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival returns to the area and brings 50 movies by independent filmmakers from around the world. Named one of the “Top 50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” by Movie Maker Magazine in 2017, this one-of-a-kind festival set against the backdrop of rugged mountain beauty is a five-day event you’re sure to remember for years to come.
Ride a Fat Bike
Fat Bikes are perfect for exploring the area’s miles of trails with snowy terrain too “soft” for traditional mountain bikes. With low-pressure tires ranging 4" to 5" thick, these bikes are able to find traction in all types of terrain and provide a fun experience for beginners and experienced mountain bikers alike. It’s a new, exciting way to tour the region.
